This year’s spring musical put on by SCAPA/Lafayette Theatre is Hello, Dolly! The story tells of matchmaker Dolly Levi is a widow, a matchmaker, and also a professional meddler –but everything changes when she decides that the next match she needs to make is to find someone for herself. Set in New York City at the turn of the century, Hello Dolly! is boisterous and charming from start to finish. The shows will take place on April 23rd-25th, 2020 at the Lexington Opera House.

They are holding auditions this week in the SCAPA building. On December 4th, after school, there will be song auditions are from 4-6 pm and cold readings from 6:30-8:30 pm. You don’t need to prepare for the cold readings, which is the reading of the script with no or little rehearsal. They just need to come ready to read.Then, on December 5th, there will be dance auditions from 4-5 pm and 6-7 pm, after school. They are required to sing 16-32 bars of music of their choice and they are recommended to sing a song from a broadway musical for the song auditions. When they come to dance auditions, they are advised to wear clothes and shoes comfortable to do some dances. Callbacks will be on December 11th, which is to see if two actors work well together and also to see more from someone.
