Do you like repping your school in public? Well, the Lafayette Generals Outfitters is a shop with all you could want to have. Lafayette General Outfitters has anything from hoodies to hats to temporary tattoos, stickers, and lanyards. The clothing has a diverse array of designs ranging from a plain red “Yette” logo that goes perfectly with a baby blue color for a sweatshirt. Another design is a navy blue hoodie with a general carrying an American flag, with the stars being replaced with the Lafayette logo with sabers going across each way. All pieces of clothing are worn to invoke pride in the legion of students here at Lafayette.
The General store isn't just selling clothing, they are also interactive with our sports. Mr. Reynolds and his team ensure to be updated on upcoming sporting event dates and spread the word to the whole school. The best way the class gets the word out is through Social media. They run an account called @LafayetteAthletics on Instagram. This account is known all around the school for finding out when games are and upcoming dates.
They will make a game day post on the day of sporting events with the team event, time, and location. This has helped get more people at games and will continue to serve as Lafayette's own ESPN. Now getting back to clothing, they also have an account called “@LHSoutfitters” on Instagra,m where you can find new clothing drops or pieces they have on sale. They also do a really good job at marketing the clothing while also doing TikTok Trends with the clothing to grab our attention.
The class with all the students working on General outfitters is marketing applications for Mr. Reynolds. The classes have a rotating schedule alternating between running the store and doing social media. This schedule allows everyone to participate in both aspects of the class. It's an on and off-schedule to ensure a balance and that everyone gets a shared part in everything. There are only two classes for the store, one on A-day and one on B-day. The staff is all about being a team and coordinating on how to carry the store. For example, students will discuss what to post next or a new art design for more content on their social media page.
