Lafayette students do so much work through the week that they deserve a little break. Weekends are the perfect time to unwind and have fun after a long week of classes and homework. Whether students want to hang out with friends, participate in new hobbies, or just relax, there are various activities to choose from so everyone can have fun!
If students want to hang out with their friends, there are many options. . They could have a movie marathon and pick all their favorite movies. There are also many different genres, like horror, comedy, romance, action, and drama, so everyone will have a good selection.
They could also have a game night with their friends and play board games like Clue, Monopoly, Candy Land, Trouble, Uno, and Battleship.
Shopping is also a great way to have fun with friends. Lexington has many great stores, such as Fayette Mall and The Summit. Students could always do something simple like eating with friends or family. There are plenty of good food options here in Lexington, such as Carson’s, Pies and Pints, and Frank & Dino’s.
Sports are also a great way to have fun together. Some fun sports are soccer, basketball, football, and even throwing a ball around. If they want an outdoor activity, they could also try a picnic, hiking, or biking, which they can do themselves to help them relax. The Kentucky Horse Park or the Arboretum offers a variety of walking trails and natural spaces to enjoy.
No matter their interests, there’s always something fun to do for everyone on the weekends. Lauren Cravens, a junior here at Lafayette, told The Times about some of her favorite things to do after school, “I like to hang out with my friends and shop.” Sometimes, having nothing to do can feel boring, but these activities might help with having more fun on the weekends. So, try one of these activities next time students want something to do.
