World Music Club
February 8, 2018
The World Music Club is a new club to Lafayette this year. Their purpose is to celebrate and learn about music from different cultures around the world. The first culture they visited was Korea and the music of KPOP. The group plans on visiting the music of Russia and Japan in the near future. During meetings, the club enjoys dancing, singing, and appreciating the music with friends. The club really dives right in on the music and explores different genres of music within the language/culture. If you aren’t comfortable singing or dancing, the club would still love to have you even if you just want to sit there and listen to the music.
Anyone is welcome to go to the meetings on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 3:30 to 5:00 in 231. See Ms. Clara Graham or one of the club members for details. Music and culture lovers this club is for you. Student Head of the World Music Club, Aisha Odusanya, would like everyone to know that it is a “free and loving club where people can gather, snack, and listen to some good music.”
The club gathered on February 1st and explored the Turkish music and culture. This is a very diverse and lively club and is great reflection of the diversity of Lafayette students.
