Lafayette vs. Lexington Catholic and Game Preview vs. Lexington Christian

On Tuesday night, Lafayette had their first home game of 2018, when they took on Lexington Catholic, who was on a 4 game winning streak. Lafayette on the other hand, has won 5 out of their last 7 seven, so it was truly a battle of momentum.

It was close through-out the whole game. The Generals leading at halftime 34-30, then leading going into the fourth quarter, 50-45. Then they kept rolling, winning the fourth quarter 18-13, and winning the game, 68-58. Lafayette’s top performer was Eric Powell with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Zan Payne led the way for Catholic with 20 points and 8 rebounds.

Lafayette’s next game is on the road against Lexington Christian. This will be the first time the teams meet this season. Lexington Christian is currently tied for 3rd in Region 11 with a 18-6 record. The Eagles have won 14 of their last 15, and the Generals have won 6 out of their last 7. Lafayette is 5th in Region 11, at a 16-5 record.
