Lafayette Basketball Continues Their Playoff Run

Blake Bethune, Sports Editor

On Wednesday, Lafayette played a win-or-go-home game against city rival Dunbar. In a game, that definitely lived up to the hype, Lafayette struggled in the first half, with Dunbar leading 25-14 at half. But Lafayette showed fight like they have all year. Lafayette outscored Dunbar 16-4 in the third quarter, leading by two going into what could be their final quarter of the season. Lafayette kept the petal to the medal in the fourth quarter and showed the same fight and resilience as they have all year, when they got the deal done and won, 47-40.

On Friday, Lafayette has a road game against LCA, in the District 43 Championship! Lafayette is 0-2 against Lexington Christian this year. They’ve lost both games by a combined 47 points. Lafayette is going to have to use that same energy they had in the second half against Dunbar if they want to win this game.

Be sure to come out to LCA to support your generals in what should be a great game!
