Spring technically started on March 20th, however a month later, we’ve seldom seen spring-like weather. Citizens of Lexington have had to brave below freezing temperatures and snowfall in late April. When students set off for spring break, they expected to come back to flowering trees and sunshine. However, they were greeted by brutal cold, and snow.

Statistics showed that February of 2018 was significantly warmer than this year’s March. There is still hope. Numerous weather channel companies have reported that spring weather is finally underway. In the next few weeks,  temperatures will rise almost 10 degrees, leaving behind the cold for the new norm of 50 degrees. Students are excited to shed their winter coats, and to finally go outside to greet pleasant weather.
