2018 Summer Work

Summer is the perfect time for studens to continue their learning, but with the luxury of moving at their own pace. Several classes at Lafayette require summer reading or other activities.

ENGLISH

At the end of the year summer reading starts to come into discussion. Students are asked to read complete a book off the summer reading book choices that are provided. There is summer reading work for every English class except Duel Credit English and AP Art History. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, AP language , Senior and AP literature all have summer work or projects that need to completed before school starts back over in August. Duel Credit English and AP Art History do not have any summer work.

SCIENCE

AP Biology and AP Environmental Science both have summer reading assignments. Both science assignments are to read a book and answer guided questions.

SOCIAL STUDIES

AP U.S History students are assigned to read chapters 1 & 2 of the given material. To prepare and be ready for a exam when the next school starts. For AP Government students will need to read a given article and answer the questions along with the article. AP Psychology students will need to pick up the summer reading in room 232 before summer break.

WORLD LANGUAGES

For AP Spanish students will need to study the given words and be ready for an exam next school year. AP French homework is to complete the 11 assignments assigned on edmodo before school starts.

ART

You must draw observations from you’re life and complete the three portfolios, complete and ready to be critiqued.

MUSIC

For AP Music  Theory classes, the summer work assigned is to study the given list of concepts. For Choir, students will study an audition piece for 2019 Kentucky All-State Choir Auditions. Check the Band and Orchestra websites for summer work.
