September 6th was the first meeting of Lafayette’s Photography club.

Sponsored by Ms. Baker, the photography club is a new edition to Lafayette’s abundance of extracurricular activities this year. The Photography club has a lot planned for this year: learning camera skills, learning various styles of photography,  participating in group outings to learn about the field of photography, and visiting spots as a group to take photos. Members will be experimenting with Bokeh photography (where one part of an image is the focus and the background is blurry for affect), long exposure pictures, and learning many other fun, interesting ways to enhance a photo.

When asked what she most looks forward to about the Photography club’s year ahead, Ms. Baker said,

“I look forward to expanding upon the photography program that we have, because right now we only have one level of photo [for a class] and I think we learn a lot in there, but we can learn even more. I just want to give kids an opportunity that want to expand on.”

The Photography club meets once a month on Thursday in room 133 from 3:30 to 4:30. Members are looking forward to a great year full of fun, learning, and, of course, some photography!
