The Writing Teacher Assistant Program is sponsored  by Ms. Holly Ybarrola. The purpose of the program is to provide writing assistance to students who need it most. This year, the teacher assistants (TAs) created YouTube videos to help students with their writing. You can visit their channel through this link: Lafayette Writing Lab.

The content shown in these videos are the result of these students working in their free time. The videos focus on explaining common writing issues for students that struggle with writing. Some topics shown includes: avoiding plagiarism, syntax, and how to write strong introductions and conclusions.

Teachers can reserve the Writing TAs to help students during writing instruction. According to Mrs. Ybarrola this program is desperately needed. “Our school is bursting at the seams in population,” she says, “so this program presents the opportunity to provide students with one-on-one instruction”.
