Softball 2019 Introduction

Here at Lafayette High School, students are given the chance to be a part of something special. Lafayette offers some unique, diverse sports for all types of students. There is, without a doubt, something for everyone here at Lafayette. Whether that sport is football, baseball, basketball, or softball.
Softball is one of the numerous teams offered at Lafayette. Softball is a modified form of baseball played on a much smaller field, with a larger ball.
The Lafayette Softball Team is one of the many sports teams offered here at Lafayette. The team is composed of 24 players that practice on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6-8, or 7-9 if they are in the green building. They also practice on Saturdays.
The team consists of some amazing coaches: Dan Grantz, head coach of the softball team. Lisa Durham, Grantz assistant. Coach Chris Holt and his assistant, Ammie Mudd. This year’s captains are senior Ashley Ward and junior Anna Norby. Check out the team’s roster here.
Jaylene Vega, a softball athlete here at Lafayette, had a few words to share when asked about her experience on the team, “Our team is like a BIG family. We are always there to pick each other up whenever we need it, both on and off the field. We all share the same goal of being the best softball players we can possibly be”.
