Band Bash 2019 Recap

The annual Lafayette Band Bash was last Saturday and was a huge success! It was held at the Oleika Temple and themed “True Colors”. This theme called for loud, fun colors to resemble the 80s era. The table centerpieces, photo backdrop, and attendees outfits reflected this style. The attendance reached over 200 students, friends, and family.

Throughout the night, the jazz bands played a variety of intricate tunes and fun party pieces that got everyone on the floor and dancing.  One of those fun pieces was Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline”; which never ceases to impress the crowd.

Along with all of this, the band parents were serving up a line of delicious food. Everyone definitely enjoyed themselves. There was also a silent auction taking place that offered over 100 great products. These included things from restaurant gift cards to jewelry, to even a Pigeon Forge getaway! As you can see, no matter your forte, anyone could’ve stayed and enjoyed themselves.

There was a multitude of people that brought this event together, but the two that deserve the most credit would be Melena and John Dailey, who are in charge of fundraising for the Lafayette Band. These two conducted the entire event, and did an outstanding job. In their words, “If you weren’t there, you missed out!” Make plans to attend next year’s band bash. Everyone can’t wait for next year.
