You might have heard of Tyler Childers through his popular songs “All Your’n” and “Feathered Indians.” If you’re a country-folk music fan and enjoy these hits, you might be interested in attending his 2025 tour.
The singer was born in Lawrence County, Kentucky, on June 21, 1991. He is candid about how being raised in Eastern Kentucky has affected his affiliation with country music. Starting his singing career at his local church, he also learned how to play the guitar from his grandfather.
His first album, “Bottles and Bibles,” was self-released when he was 19. Though this album was not as popular as some of his later releases, it caught the attention of Miles Miller, a drummer for Sturgill Simpson. This caused Childers to gain recognition from Simpson, a renowned country music singer, which was important for his career’s future success.
Since then, Childers has released six studio albums, three extended plays (EPs), and six singles. Simpson was a producer on his second album, “Purgatory,” released in 2017, and it was what some considered his “breakout album” due to it charting at No. 1 on the Heatseekers album charts, which features new and emerging artists. His success with this album led to him gaining a record deal with Record Corporation of America, more commonly known as RCA, and joining other artists like SZA, Kane Brown, and former artists like Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley. 2019 was the year he charted at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart with his third album, “Country Squire.”
His 2025 On The Road Tour isn’t his first experience with touring. Since 2017 he’s constantly been on and off the road, usually touring after the release of a new album. These upcoming shows in 2025 continue his Mull Pull Tour, which began in 2024 and supports his most recent album, “Rustin’ in the Rain.” He headlined many festivals, including Bourbon and Beyond, in Louisville, Kentucky on September 22, 2024.
Lafayette sophomore Emery Luckett is a longtime fan of Childers. She says, “I’ve grown to like his music because I love Country [music] itself, and Tyler Childers adds his own personality to the music he creates.” She also explained how her family has “…always loved Tyler Childers’ music…,” but she began individually listening to him around four years ago. Her favorite song of his In Your Love, because she feels like it displays his amazing musical capabilities. Luckett is attending the Kroger Field stop of the On The Road tour and is excited because she is attending with her best friends.
The On The Road tour kicks off on April 3, 2025, in New Orleans, LA, and continues throughout 40 additional dates, ending November 15, 2025, in London, UK. He will stop in Lexington, KY, on April 19 at Kroger Field, and tickets are still available. Hopefully, this article not only introduced you to a new artist but also a new genre and new songs to add to your playlist.
